Nigerian Team of the Week: September 19–22, 2025

GK – CHIAMAKA NNADOZIE - BRIGHTON AND HOVE ALBION WOMEN 

The Super Falcons goalkeeper makes our Team of the Week after impressing in Brighton Women’s 4-1 win over West Ham Women in the English Women’s Super League.

Nnadozie made five saves, helping her side to their first win of the season.

DF – CALVIN BASSEY - FULHAM FC

Super Eagles defender Calvin Bassey put in an impressive shift for Fulham in their 3-1 comeback victory against Brentford.

Bassey made two blocks, two interceptions, and five clearances, further proving to be a reliable defender for the Premier League side.

DF – ASHLEIGH PLUMPTRE - AL ITTIHAD WOMEN

It was business as usual for Super Falcons fullback Ashleigh Plumptre, who once again delivered two assists in Al Ittihad’s 3-0 win over Eastern Flames in the Saudi Women’s League.

DF – MICHELLE ALOZIE - HOUSTON DASH

Houston Dash earned a slim 1-0 win over Chicago Red Stars in the NWSL, with Super Falcons defender Michelle Alozie at the centre of the backline.

She won all three of her ground duels and made two interceptions to help secure a clean sheet.

MF – NNAMDI OFOBORH - BARNET 

The Barnet midfielder was outstanding, scoring twice in their 3-0 win over Grimsby Town in League Two.

Ofoborh netted in the 42nd and 67th minutes, while also recording three interceptions and winning four duels.

MF – IBRAHIM OLAWOYIN - ÇAYKUR RIZESPOR

Ibrahim Olawoyin was instrumental for Rizespor in their 1-1 draw with Kocaelispor in the Turkish Super Lig.

He scored the opener in first-half stoppage time and won five duels from midfield.

CAM – JAMES ADENIYI - HAPOEL PETACH TIKVA

James Adeniyi starred in Kaporl Tikva’s 6-1 win over Maccabi Bney Reine in the Israeli Premier League.

The 32-year-old scored a quick brace, completed 100% of his passes, created two key passes, and made one big chance.

RF – ASISAT OSHOALA - AL HILAL WOMEN FC

Super Falcons forward Asisat Oshoala scored one and assisted another in Al Hilal’s 3-2 win over Al-Ahli.

ST – PAUL ONUACHU - TRABZONSPOR

Onuachu made it back-to-back goals for Trabzonspor, scoring the equaliser against Gaziantep.

He latched onto a lofted ball from goalkeeper André Onana before calmly slotting home.

LF – ALEX IWOBI - FULHAM FC - STAR OF THE WEEK

It was a magnificent performance from Alex Iwobi in Fulham’s 3-1 comeback win against Brentford.

He scored the equaliser with a fine side-foot finish in the 38th minute and assisted Harry Wilson’s goal to complete the turnaround.

Iwobi’s display also earned him the Premier League Man of the Match award.

ST - OLANREWAJU KAYODE - ESENLER EROKSPOR

Olanrewaju Kayode netted a brace in Erokspor’s 4-3 win over Manisa.

His goals proved decisive in sealing the victory.
