Kingsley Michael resumes light training after four months out with ankle injury

Super Eagles midfielder, Kingsley Michael, has returned to training, after being out of action with an ankle injury for four months.

Super Eagles midfielder, Kingsley Michael, has returned to training, after being out of action with an ankle injury for four months.

Michael suffered a broken leg injury that made him miss AFCON 2021 and most part of the 2021-2022 season. 

The 22-year-old suffered the horrific blow during Bologna’s 1-1 draw at Udinese on the 17th of October 2021.

Kingsley went through surgery immediately after he got injured and has now returned to light training.

Before his injury, Michael had featured two times for the Serie A side with both coming as a substitute.

EaglesTracker caught up exclusively with 22-year old midfielder, Kingsley Michael, who recently earned his first call up, and made his debut in the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qualifying victory over Cape Verde.

“First of all, I want to give thanks to God, he made it possible. I really can’t explain how I felt making my debut. It was like a dream come true, I was sooo happy, the joy was too much.

Michael expressed his surprise at even being called up for the games in the first place, “I was really surprised. I didn’t expect or believe it until I got to the Eagles camp and had my first training. Then I realized it was all real and true.

Looking forward to the next opportunity to put on the green and white jersey of Nigeria, Michael asks for the fans support, while promising to play from the heart always. “I want the fans to keep supporting me because there is room for improvement, and watch for the heart that I play with. I love them all, thank you.”
