Dennis Bonaventure joins Watford

Watford FC have reached an agreement with Club Brugge for the transfer of Super Eagles forward, Emmanuel Dennis Bonaventure. The newly-promoted English Premier League club announced the signing of the pacy 23-year old from the Belgian Champions on Monday.

Bonaventure was part of Club Brugge’s Belgian league and cup winning double side in 2020. He made headlines in 2019 when he scored a brace in the UEFA Champions League against Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu, and imitated Cristiano Ronaldo’s famous goal celebration.

Following a falling-out with the hierarchy at Club Brugge, Bonaventure spent the second half of the 2020/2021 season on loan with FC Koln in the Bundesliga. He found playing time limited in Germany, making only 9 appearances (6 starts) and providing one assist.

Bonaventure, who has 2 caps for the Super Eagles, will be teaming up with compatriots, William Troost-Ekong, Isaac Success, Tom Dele-Bashiru and Joseph Hungbo for the Hornets.

25-year old forward, Peter Olayinka has been the subject of major transfer speculation from clubs in the English Premier League, with reported interest from clubs like West Ham and Southampton.

Following two successful seasons with Czech Champions, SK Slavia Prague, the time might finally have come for the pacy winger to take his talents to the “big leagues”.

Olayinka won the Czech Cup in 2018/2019 and 2020/2021 while also completing a hat trick of Czech First League titles between 2018/2019 and 2020/2021.

With an asking price of eight million euro reportedly quoted by Slavia Prague, we wait to see if either side will fork out the sizeable sum for the newlywed.
