Super Falcons forward, Asisat Oshoala made her return to match action after two months out with injury, in Barcelona’s 5-1 thrashing of Wolfsburg.

The UEFA Champions League defending champions took on the German giants in the first leg of their UEFA Women’s Champions League semifinal.

Asisat Oshoala came on as a 73rd-minute substitute for Jennifer Hermoso.

Barcelona’s superior performance paid off as they overcame Wolfsburg for the first time in four encounters.

Wolfsburg had become a fish bone in the gullet for the Spanish giants, but the Blaugrana’s recent success allowed them to make mincemeat of their fellow European giants.

Aitana Bonmati’s third-minute goal opened the floodgates in front of a raucous Camp Nou crowd.

Caroline Hansen increased the lead in the 10th minute, as the hosts jumped off to a quick lead.

Wolfsburg tried to pull one back, but were quickly beaten by Hermoso’s goal in the 33rd minute.

Alexia Putellas, the Ballon D’Or winner, scored the European champions’ fourth goal of the night, while Jil Roord gave the visitors something to take home.

Putellas finished the rout with 5 minutes remaining in normal time.

Despite her late introduction, Oshoala performed admirably and had three shots on target during the game.

Barcelona has taken a commanding lead into the second leg and is on set to capture their second European title.
