  • The Super Falcons will trade tackles with co-hosts Australia, CONCACAF representatives Canada and Ireland in Group B of the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup.

The draw for the Mundial was completed on Saturday morning.

One of only two countries, alongside the United States, to have appeared at every edition of the tournament, the Super Falcons will aim to do better than their last outing.

At France 2019, Nigeria made it past the group stage before crashing out in the Round of 16 with a record of one win and three losses from four games.

The former African champions' best result was reaching the quarterfinals at the 1999 edition of the World Cup. Nigeria did not qualify from the group stage in all four editions between 1999 and 2019.

None of the Falcons' other Group B competitors have ever won the FIFA Women's World Cup.

Australia, who will be hosting the tournament together with New Zealand, have three quarterfinal outings as their best results.

Canada, currently ranked seventh in the world, finished fourth in 2003, the country's highest ever placing at the Mundial.

The World Cup is scheduled to take place from 20 July to 20 August 2023.
