Samson Tijani celebrates Austrian league title win with RB Salzburg
The Super Eagles youngster was involved in Red Bull Salzburg’s league title celebrations yesterday. They defeated Austria Vienna 5-0 to clinch their spot as Austrian Bundesliga champions for the 2021/22 season.
Although he wasn’t in the matchday squad, Tijani joined his teammates to celebrate the success.
Tijani returned to the Austrian giants this season after being recalled from his loan to FC Hartberg at the start of the season. He appeared in three league games for the champions and nine times for Hartberg.
The 2019 U17 captain enjoyed a memorable season, featuring in the Salzburg main squad and earning his UEFA Champions League debut.
While his opportunities have been limited, the 19-year-old is viewed as one of the team’s potentials by Salzburg’s gaffer, Matthias Jaissle.

The league title was Red Bull Salzburg’s ninth in a row, having won the competition since 2014.
Red Bull Salzburg’s players of Nigerian heritage, notably Karim Adeyemi, Noah Okafor, and Chukwubuike Adamu, were also present to celebrate the triumph.
With reports that Adeyemi would join Borussia Dortmund next season, Adamu and Okafor have also received offers.
Salzburg, as a breeding ground for talents, should expect to lose numerous important players this season, with opportunities for players like Tijani looming.
Next season, the Nigerian will also compete in the Champions League.
