With fourteen minutes remaining, the home team was three goals down thanks to goals from Maximilian Thalhammer, Florent Muslija, and Collins.
In the 81st minute, Alexander Mühling made it 4-2 with a penalty, and Benedikt Pichler further reduced the deficit on 88 minutes to set up a tense finale to the game, which Paderborn were able to hang on to win.
Collins’ goal against Holstein Kiel was his first in Paderborn colours in 888 days, dating back to September 28, 2019, when he scored against Bayern Munich.
Due to his lack of game time at Paderborn, Rangers youngster Calvin Bassey was invited ahead of the former Rijeka fullback.
Collins is amongst the seven players on the reserve roster for the upcoming 2022 World Cup playoff matches against Ghana.
Collins hasn’t played much for Paderborn because his contract expires on June 30, 2022, and his future is uncertain.
