Paul Onuachu of the Super Eagles scored the first goal and assisted the second as Genk defeated Kortrijk 2-0.

The lanky forward maintained his excellent form as he assisted his team in their recovery from last week’s setback.

The Smurfs came into the match with a loss against Jupiler League rivals Anderlecht, but they still had a better record than their opponents, who had lost four of their previous five games.

As expected, Genk took the lead early in the game. They kept possession of the ball, attempting to split Kortrijk’s backline.

Onuachu rose highest to meet a cross from Junya Ito and headed home from a swarm of defenders in the 17th minute, capping off a great start.

The former FC Ebedie man turned provider less than five minutes later, setting up Joseph Paintsil, who scored from close range to give the Beker Van Belgie Champions a two-goal advantage.

In the first half, Genk were unplayable. In the first half, they had six shots on target, compared to the visitors’ one.

In the second half, Genk were more comfortable, but they maintained it tight at the back to keep the score at 2-0.

Onuachu had a fantastic game, with three shots on target, four vital passes, and a pass accuracy of 90%.

His goal brings his league total to 16 goals in 25 games so far this season.
