Super Eagles defender, Tyronne Ebuehi, could be sidelined for a long time after suffering an injury in Venezia’s 1-1 draw with Genoa over the weekend.
He returned to the squad as a half-time sub following his dismissal against Victor Osimhen’s Napoli in the first week of February.
The 26-year-old, however, only lasted thirty minutes before being subbed off due to a knock to his left leg.

The Super Eagles defender has a lesion in his left semitendinosus muscle, according to the results of the tests performed on him. According to reports in the Italian press, the dynamic fullback could be absent for several weeks.
Ebuehi could miss Nigeria’s critical two-legged 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Ghana’s Black Stars. The matches are scheduled for March 25th and 29th in Cape Coast and Abuja respectively.

The on-loan Benfica defender was a member of the Super Eagles’ team for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations. He made one appearance, in the 2-0 group stage victory over Guinea-Bissau.
Augustine Eguavoen has suffered a setback as a result of Ebuehi’s absence. Torino’s Ola Aina, Orlando Pirates’ Olisa Ndah, and Omonia’s Shehu Abdullahi remain options for the Super Eagles at right back.
