He’s worth every penny – Scottish journalist backs Joe Aribo’s £10m tag
Joe Aribo is the standout performer for Glasgow Rangers so far this season, according to journalist, Pete O’Rourke. As Aribo’s contract expires at the end of the 2022/2023 season, there has been a lot of speculation about his future.
The 12-cap Super Eagle is expected to leave the Scottish Premiership Champions in the summer transfer window, with a move to the Premier League on the cards.
Crystal Palace have been linked with a move for the left-footed midfielder. He is reportedly a target to replace Conor Gallagher, who is due to return to parent club Chelsea at the end of the season.
The Light Blues have put a price tag of at least 10 million pounds (about N5.6 billion) on Aribo. This would be a substantial profit, considering the central midfielder only cost 300,000 pounds when he joined in 2019.
Pete O’Rourke believes the former Charlton Athletic star is worth every cent because of his impressive performances with Rangers. “Yeah, it sounds like a decent price if you can get him for around £10 million. For me, he’s probably been Rangers’ best player this season,” he told Givemesport.
Crystal Palace aren’t the only Premier League club interested in signing Aribo. Newcomers, Brentford and Watford are reportedly both interested in the 25-year-old.
