The Super Eagles of Nigeria will be out to crush the Jediane Falcons of Sudan on Saturday. They are currently sitting comfortably on top of Group D with three points from their opening fixture against Egypt.

A win will see them progress to the Round of 16 of this 33rd Africa Cup of Nations tournament in Cameroon.

The team had an intensive closed-door training session on Thursday night in Garoua, and will go into this weekend’s clash on the back of an impressive 1-0 win over seven-time champions Egypt.

Nigeria and Sudan will meet for the third time at the AFCON following previous clashes in 1963 where the Sudanese team thrashed Nigeria 4-0 and in 1976 when Nigeria won by a single goal to nil.

The Super Eagles will be looking to maintain their momentum and go all out for the victory against Sudan. Kick off is at 5pm on Saturday January 15th live from the Estadio Roumde Adjia stadium in Garoua.

Interim head coach, Agustine Eguavoen also revealed that the three-time African Champions are likely to be without defender, Chidozie Awaziem. He misses out due to an ankle injury sustained while preparing for the tournament.
