Paul Onuachu once again hit a brace, a consecutive display in two matches. He is on the brink of breaking Yakubu Aiyegbeni’s 16 league goal haul in Everton and by fair standards, the most consistent African striker in Europe at the moment (special mention to Moses Ogbu of Mjallby AIF). Zaidu Sanusi took on from where he left with yet another compelling performance. Onuachu, Sanusi and Leon’s clubs assumes nadir of their respective leagues while Simon’s Crotone plunges deeper.
BALOGUN RIDES TRIUMPHANTLY IN DEFENCE FOR GERRARD’S RANGERS
Six clean sheets, including a 4–0 thumping of Ross Country has seen Leon Balogun become increasingly involved in defence for Rangers. Averaging 63.7 touches and 1.4 interceptions per game. Since moving to Scotland, Leon Balogun has undeniably been an integral part to Rangers scaling as high as 13 points ahead of their closest rivals, Celtic. Unbeaten this season, they look glowingly to fasten the hegemony of Celtic having acquired 44 points in 16 matches.

WHO CAN STOP PAUL ONUACHU ?
If we deem Paul Onuachu the most consistent African player in Europe this season, it wouldn’t be exaggerative. Perhaps behind Mohamed Salah, however, his performances may even place him on a higher pedestal. He has scored 14 goals in 15 matches so far this league season, including 5 goals in the last 3 games. Against Antwerp, Onuachu’s intermittent strikes in the space of 4 minutes, at first overturned a deficit while the second strike in the 23rd minute gave his side a 2-1 lead. His double efforts would set the pace for subsequent goals as compatriot, Cyril Dessers perfectly stamped the victory with a sublime finish in the 88th minute. With Genk on the zenith of the log and Paul Onuachu topping the scorers chart, it seems a necessary reunion of the Nigerian will suffice in forthcoming national duties.

CLUB BRUGGE MUST BE MORE EMPHATIC TO TRUMP KRC GENK
A point adrift of KRC Genk means any attempt of winning the league might be jaundiced, but possibilities of winning the league are mathematically verifiable and should not be ruled out. Emmanuel Dennis played 56 mins in their draw against Sint-Truidense VV with his substitute and compatriot, David Okereke scoring in the 58th minute. Emmanuel has not been particularly impressive, resulting in an oscillation between playing partly and being benched. It is essential that he starts regularly if he still adores christening the Nigerian shirt.

ZAIDU SANSUI IS SLOWLY EVOLVING TO WORLD CLASS STATUS
What is demanded of defenders, modern wing backs, specifically are less of defensive responsibilities than offensive push. The ability to string both seamlessly further inscribes an impression on a player’s work ethic, positional nous and tactical discipline. Thus, it separates the average from the best. Both in the UCL and the Primera Liga, 23-year old Super Eagles defender, Zaidu Sanusi displayed defensive attributes of the Brazilian Maicon as well as roving between the spaces like a swarming bee, reminiscent of prime Dani Alves. It wasn’t a coincidence that he had 107 touches, the most by any Porto defender, including a goal to conclude an aesthetically pleasing performance. Should he be consistent, as shown lately, Zaidu might be gradually evolving to a desirable status — world class wouldn’t be an overstatement.

ALEX IWOBI’S NOVEL POSITION SEES HIM EXCEL
It was at first against Fulham, when Ancelloti experimented Iwobi as a RWB in a 3–4–3 formation. Subsequent matches saw him in similar positions as the one against Burnley on Saturday. Held to a nought, Iwobi was on an individual note, sumptuously brilliant. He looked bright in attack and totally commanded his space. The midfielder’s versatility repertoire is indeed an advantage to the demands of the modern game.

Meanwhile, in other matches Simy’s Crotone and Moses Simon’s Nantes slumped to devastating defeats. Etebo was a 10-minute substitute in Galatasaray’s win against Hatayspor. Same also featured in Spain as Chukwueze could only play 45minutes.
