18-year old midfielder, Ibrahim Said has joined Danish side, Viborg FF on a deal until 2024. Ibrahim Said makes his first move out of Nigeria, joining from Dabo Babes Academy. Said made a name for himself last year, at the FIFA U17 World Cup, when he scored a hat trick for the Golden Eaglets in their [3-2] victory over Ecuador. He played all four games for Nigeria at the tournament.
Speaking on the move, Viborg sports manager, Jesper Fredberg said: “We see Ibrahim Said as a very interesting offensive player with a really exciting raw potential, we hope and believe in being able to release with us. We are well aware that it is a big step for a young man to move to Europe, so we must also have patience, but we believe that we have got a strong setup to develop young players, and we have high expectations for him in the long run.
He is a player who can cover several offensive positions, is technically proficient and then he has shown at the U17 World Cup that he can also get product on his actions. We believe that he fits in well with our way of playing, and we look forward to seeing him in the green jersey.”
Said signed the agreement with the club before the transfer window closed, but the move was delayed as he had to wait a long time to secure a work visa.
