23-year old striker, Umar Sadiq has joined Spanish second tier outfit, UD Almeria on a permanent transfer from Partizan Belgrade in Serbia. Almeria have parted with a reported sum of ten million euros to complete this deadline day transfer. If true, it will make Umar the club’s most expensive signing ever.
Umar has been an attacking sensation since moving to Serbia, smashing in 23 goals and supplying 19 assists in 51 games for Partizan. He joined Partizan Belgrade from Roma last summer, initially on a loan deal, before the Serbian club made his stay permanent in January 2020 for €1.75m.
The lanky forward was an integral part of the Samson Siasia-led Dream team VI that claimed the bronze medal at the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games.
He will wear the number 9 jersey for UD Almeria.
UD Almeria currently sit 14th in the Seguna Liga, after two matches. The club only narrowly missed out on promotion last season after finishing fourth and they will be hoping the signing of Umar can fire them to the top flight in 2021
Is this a good move for him ? How will Umar fare in Spain ? Leave a comment or reaction below.
