Kelechi Iheanacho: Is the Eagle ready to soar ?

Super Eagles forward, Kelechi Iheanacho had a brilliant 2019/2020 season for Leicester City as he hit double figures for the first time in four years.
He made his Manchester City debut in 2016 when Manuel Pellegrini brought him on against Watford and he took the league by storm. Pellegrini left City at the end of the 2015/2016 season and Pep Guardiola took charge.

Many thought that Iheanacho would thrive under Pep, but the dream never materialized. He left for Leicester City in 2017 after finding it hard to force his way into Guardiola’s plan. After signing for Leicester at the beginning of the 2017/18 season things didn’t change immediately for Iheanacho.
The 23 year old didn’t hit the ground running under Craig Shakespeare, and not even after the English man got laid off and Claude Puel took charge in October 2017.

When Brendan Rodgers became the new Foxes boss in February 2018, it was hoped that it’d be the beginning of new things for Kelechi [Iheanacho], but the Imo born forward couldn’t replicate that form which brought him to limelight, and he got starved of game time.

As the 2019/2020 season kicked off, there were strong calls for Iheanacho to leave the King Power Stadium, but he waited patiently for his opportunity and he proved that he’s a player of great quality.
In Cup games like the FA Cup and the Carabao Cup, he was always a starter and he scored four goals in four Carabao Cup matches.

In the FA Cup he got one goal in two appearances and then in the EPL, he featured 20 times, scoring five times and turning provider on four occasions.

Iheanacho is resigned to playing a backup role to Jamie Vardy, who continues to impress even in his older years.

With Iheanacho beginning to find his feet again, would he eventually fulfill that potential in him ?
