Nigeria U20 defender speaks on his ambitions following transfer

20-year old centre-back, Igoh Ogbu completed a permanent transfer to Sogndal IL in Norway from Rosenborg on Sunday, and he spoke exclusively to EaglesTracker about his move.

“It’s been a great move and a great decision for me because I was in Rosenborg and [they] have played their part for me. I feel like I need to go and grow to become the best player that I want to be so I needed somewhere to go and play a lot of games and gain more experience to put into the future”, Igoh said to EaglesTracker about his transfer

Speaking about his goals for the future, he said:

“It’s an exciting move for me because it’s not all about playing for the big clubs, it’s not all about being under the name of a big club, it’s all about playing. If you don’t have the playing time then you can never be the best player you can be. So for me, I think it’s better for me to move and play some games, become fitter and more experienced as a player, and hopefully I get a better offer and move onto the next level and keep pushing. The aim isn’t to stop here, but to play for the Super Eagles as well. That’s the plan for the future.”

Igoh Ogbu was part of the Flying Eagles squad at the 2019 FIFA U20 World Cup in Poland.
