Super Falcons captain and 2019 CAF African Women’s Player of the Year, Asisat Oshoala has won her first ever league title as Barcelona are named 2019/2020 Spanish Primera Iberdrola champions

The governing body for Spanish football, RFEF, announced in a statement yesterday that the rest of the 2019/2020 Primera Iberdrola was being called off, with the season completed using the current standings.

This decision has of course been made due to the ongoing global coronavirus pandemic.

With FC Barcelona leading the pack, 9 points clear of rivals, Atletico Madrid with 9 games to play, Asisat Oshoala has become a league champion for the first time.

The 25-year old also finishes as the competition’s second highest goalscorer with 20 goals in 19 games and adds to their Copa de La Reina trophy success earlier in the season.

A wonderful season for the exciting forward.

Nigerian Standings:

1. Asisat Oshoala – FC Barcelona

10. Osinachi Ohale – CD Tacon

11. Uchenna Kanu – Sevilla FC

12. Alice Ogebe – Real Betis

13. Rita Chikwelu & Chidinma Okeke – Madrid CFF
