Super Eagles and Wigan Athletic centre-back, Leon Balogun was on Instagram Live to discuss with Adure of EaglesTracker about his career journey so far, his time with the Super Eagles and much more.

The 31-year old ‘strong-man’ recalled what it was like for him to receive his first call up to the Super Eagles squad in 2014, by the Head Coach at the time, Late Stephen Keshi.

He remembered sitting on his couch and being surprised to be receiving a phone call from Nigeria. He answered the phone and heard the voice of Stephen Keshi on the other end. He said: “It was super super exciting, I was excited like a little boy.”

Balogun also spoke about his first arrival to the Super Eagles training camp. He said:

“Once I got to the hotel and I arrived for dinner, I see the guys all sitting there that I’ve been cheering on the TV during World Cups and AFCON, it was like, ‘Oh my days!'”
