Victor Osimhen’s penalty, and Samuel Kalu’s solo effort life the Super Eagles to a narrow 2-1 victory over the Squirrels of Benin Republic in Uyo.

The story of the day was the terrible media coverage, as the Super Eagles faced Benin Republic in Uyo.

Millions of Nigerian fans were left without an avenue to watch the match or were forced to watch a horrendous NTA broadcast of the action.

Stephane Sessegnon gave Benin the lead after only 2 mins as some shabby defending from the Super Eagles allowed him to score past the stranded Daniel Akpeyi.

Victor Osimhen drew the Super Eagles level from the penalty spot on the stroke of half time, after Ola Aina was upended in the box by a Benin defender.

It then took a moment of individual brilliance to seal all three points for the Super Eagles, as Samuel Kalu went on a mesmerizing solo run before scoring into the bottom right corner.
